I couldn’t agree more with a phrase I’ve seen attributed to Steve Romeo, although I and most of my ski partners seem to be on the exact same page. It goes like this – ‘There are two seasons: Winter, and Waiting for Winter.’ I think of it as ‘With Snow, and Without Snow,’ since Winter is a comparatively short timeframe, and I’m often skiing ‘with snow’ in summer. Lately, during ‘Without Snow,’ there have been two frequent things going on in my life: a lot of being sick, and (comparatively) less being in the mountains.
